Born in the eastern region of Tibet, in Kham Dege, Thupten Tahdhong was the youngest of seven siblings. From an early age, he was known for his curiosity, wisdom, and adventurous spirit. His fascination with antiques and traditional Tibetan artifacts began during his early teenage years while traveling across Tibet and later to China for business opportunities. These journeys allowed him to discover the beauty, craftsmanship, and stories preserved within Tibetan art and cultural treasures.

As he grew older, life’s responsibilities shifted toward supporting and raising his family, yet his passion for Tibetan antiques never faded. Carrying with him the knowledge and appreciation passed down through generations, he eventually made a new home in New York after crossing the vast Himalayan mountains.

Today, his legacy lives on through this collection — a space dedicated not only to Tibetan antiques, but also to sharing the rich history, traditions, and cultural customs of Tibet. Each piece represents a connection to heritage, craftsmanship, and the enduring spirit of Tibetan culture that Thupten Tahdhong deeply cherished.

As a daughter, I carry forward my abba’s legacy in the pursuit of antiques and craftsmanship. Through this journey, I reconnect with my rich cultural roots and hope to inspire younger generations to rediscover and embrace their heritage.
